BBC News celebrates Neil Gilson’s record-breaking Lake Geneva swim!
It’s not just Olympic swimmers making the headlines! BBC Spotlight and BBC News Devon have both highlighted Neil’s fantastic and record-breaking achievement.
“Stroke after stroke after stroke, imagine doing this for 22 hours…” That’s exactly what Neil did, bringing much-needed awareness and publicity to both children and adults living with the conditions of PANS and PANDAS.
This remarkable swim, breaking a 38-year-old record, was undertaken to raise awareness and funds for PANS PANDAS UK while completing the ‘CHALLENGE for PANS PANDAS UK’. His son Jack was diagnosed with PANS, a neuropsychiatric condition that affects children’s behaviour and social skills.
Neil’s determination and perseverance are truly inspiring. His journey not only highlights the importance of raising awareness for PANS and PANDAS but also shows what can be achieved with dedication and a touch of creativity.
Well done, Neil!
