PANS PANDAS APPG hear from clinical experts
One of our proudest achievements as a charity is creating the first All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for PANS and PANDAS. We worked hard to make this happen because we understand how important it is to engage with policymakers as we push for increased awareness, support and guidelines for these devastating conditions.
Charity representatives travelled to Westminster today, 30th April 2025, to continue this crucial work.
This second APPG meeting of 2025 saw consultant paediatric neurologist, Professor Rajat Gupta, and consultant paediatrician, Dr Tim Ubhi, present to parliamentarians about the conditions and the work which needs to be done to secure prompt and accurate assessment, diagnosis and treatment on the NHS for everyone affected by PANS and PANDAS.
It was a productive meeting with all attendees engaging in thoughtful and active discussion to further their understanding of the conditions. MPs were encouraged to better understand how they can support efforts to expedite improved healthcare, support and UK-based research.
“It was heartening to see the determination in the room to bring about meaningful change.”
– Katy Hindson, Health Development and Communications Lead, PANS PANDAS UK
We look forward to sharing the next steps for the work of the APPG soon.
