PANS PANDAS UK Exhibits at the TES SEND Show
This year marked PANS PANDAS UK’s second year exhibiting at the TES SEND Show, and it was once again a valuable opportunity to connect with families and professionals from across education, health, and social care.
Throughout the event, we met many practitioners who were keen to learn more about PANS and PANDAS. Many had heard of the conditions but were unsure about the details, while others were already supporting children and young people with a diagnosis or suspected diagnosis. Encouragingly, there was a clear sense that awareness of these conditions is growing across SENCO and wider professional networks.
A common theme in our conversations was the anticipation for clearer guidance ahead. Many people we spoke to shared their hopes that the forthcoming Local Authority Guidance and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health endorsed UK clinical guidelines will bring much-needed clarity to referral pathways, treatment, and support for children and young people.
We were also delighted to meet teachers and educational psychologists who had attended our education training sessions or planned to do so, and others who were keen to signpost colleagues to the charity resources.
We would to thank all the families and professionals who took the time to come and speak with us. The growing conversations around PANS and PANDAS across different sectors show that the community’s voice is being heard.
