PANS and PANDAS video launched for primary schools
Developed with insight from our Youth Advisory Board, the video reflects the lived experiences of young people who know how important peer reactions can be.
“Kindness and trust are the most important things for teachers and friends to have. When people understand what’s happening, it makes school feel safer.”

Endorsed by Professor Rajat Gupta, Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, this resource offers clear, accessible explanations and simple ways for pupils to show empathy and kindness.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Emily Salmon and Lauren Finlay, who created the video as part of an internship with the University of Birmingham. Their creativity and commitment have been invaluable in bringing this resource to life.
This new resource is an important step in supporting peer understanding at primary level. PANS PANDAS UK also recognises the growing need for tailored resources for secondary schools, colleges and universities, and plans to address these in future development work.
The video and accompanying guide are freely available for schools to use in assemblies, PSHE lessons or small‑group discussions.
