We are delighted that hundreds of healthcare professionals have already completed the first-ever PANDAS CPD module.

Since launching the PANDAS-specific module in October 2024, MIMS Learning has reported hundreds more completions than they would usually anticipate in a module of this kind. This demonstrates healthcare professionals’ growing interest in learning more about acute neuropsychiatric conditions.

Freely available to all healthcare professionals, the module:

  • is the first of its kind for UK healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care
  • aims to improve awareness of childhood acute neuropsychiatric conditions
  • describes what PANDAS is and how to diagnose it
  • details the current recommendations for treatment
  • is approved, and will be continually reviewed, by PANS PANDAS UK.

The module contains information about PANS and signposts international guidelines for both conditions. We encourage all primary and secondary healthcare professionals seeking to learn more about PANS and PANDAS to complete this training module.

Please download the MIMS information leaflet and share it with the health professionals supporting you and your family, and help us spread awareness of this invaluable training.

FAQs

What is MIMS Learning?

MIMS Learning is an elearning site for healthcare professionals (HCPs) in primary and secondary care. This bespoke learning platform allows for different formats and styles of education as well as set learning plans to champion each therapy area for our users. MIMS Learning partners with relevant organisations, societies and institutions where necessary. It provides CPD in a module format for HCPs, enabling them to take a test, gain CPD certification, log their learning and export it to their appraiser. The large bank of learning content (500+ modules) is continually updated, keeping abreast of changes to national guidelines and clinical practice.

Who is the module for?

This module is for primary and secondary healthcare professionals.

Do healthcare professionals need to be members of MIMS Learning to access the module?

No. The module is available to healthcare professionals for free. They simply need to visit the ‘Free CPD’ page of MIMS Learning’s website, register and they will then have access to the module.

Why does the module focus on PANDAS?

Whilst PANDAS is now widely understood to be a subset of PANS, the mechanisms behind PANDAS are, perhaps, better understood, We anticipate that this module will continue to be developed in line with evolving research and UK guidance.
