Resources for young people

Living with PANS or PANDAS, or supporting a friend or sibling with one of these conditions, can be really challenging. This page is full of resources, information and different ways to find support.

You’ll also find information about and ways to get involved with PANS PANDAS UK, including volunteering, campaigning for policy change and helping us to create more training resources for healthcare and educational professionals.

Our Youth Board

Our Youth Board is home to a group of children and young people from across the UK, aged between 8 and 25 years old, who work closely with PANS PANDAS UK to drive for positive change for other young people and families affected by PANS and PANDAS.

With online meetings every two months, you can find support amongst friends and PANS PANDAS UK team members and, if you feel comfortable, you can share your own experiences in order to support other young people.

Coming soon…

Our Youth Board is working with the awesome Taming Olivia on an amazing comic for children and young people with PANS and PANDAS.

Taming Olivia is a creative mental health space which helps to build positive wellbeing for people who experience symptoms of OCD and related conditions.

(Please note, Taming Olivia also discuss subjects and circumstances affecting adults, which may not be suitable for a younger audience)

Your own stories

We know that reading people’s stories, in their own words, can really help with awareness, understanding and feeling less isolated.

We have a section full of real-life stories about children, young people and adults living with PANS or PANDAS, and stories of the people supporting them. Take a read, and if you think you’d like to share your story with us, please get in touch.

This is also the home for artwork and poems created by people whose lives are affected by the conditions.
Ask the experts your questions about PANS or PANDAS

Ask the experts

Ever wondered how medical experts explain what PANS and PANDAS are, why they are tricky to diagnose, or if recovery is possible?

Our youth board had these questions too! They created a list and sent it to a range of international experts to get answers and help more people understand PANS and PANDAS.
Answer questions about PANS or PANDAS

Ask the experts – Live

Our Youth Board members come together with clinical experts, including Paediatric Neurologist Dr Raj Gupta, to answer questions about PANS, PANDAS and navigating the journey as a young person.

Hosted by Mitch, awesome fundraiser and Youth Board. Some questions were submitted before the recording, others are answered live!
