Research survey: Perspectives on psychotherapy

Date Published: 24/04/2026

We’re inviting caregivers, clinicians, and individuals with lived experience to take part in an important research survey led by the MIND Global Council.

This brief 20-minute survey is designed to help build the evidence base for psychotherapy guidelines in PANS, PANDAS and related neuroimmune conditions. Your voice will directly contribute to developing more informed, ethical, and effective approaches to care. There is also a separate survey for Mental Health Clinicians.

Mind research survey

Who can participate?

Participation in this study is voluntary and anonymous. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete an online survey about your child, their experiences with mental health professionals, and various treatment approaches throughout their care journey. The following surveys are available:

    • Individuals with lived experience
This study is for any individual over eighteen who has lived experience of PANS or PANDAS.

    • Parents and Caregivers
This study is for parents of children of any age who have, or are suspected of having, PANS or PANDAS. If you have more than one child with these conditions, please take one survey for each child.
    • Clinicians
This study is for Mental Health Clinicians. You will be asked about treatment modalities you have used in your practice. If you are both a caregiver and a clinician, you are welcome to complete both surveys.

Why now?

There is a critical need for research that helps clinicians better understand these complex presentations so that care is guided by thoughtful, evidence-based approaches rather than misinterpretation.

When we better understand the role of biology, we can improve outcomes for individuals and families navigating these conditions.

Thank you to the MIND Global Council and everyone in our community who can contribute to this survey. Together, we are advancing care and creating meaningful change.
