Your amazing creations:
Why is it helpful to get creative?
Young people who live with PANS and PANDAS often tell us that they find the conditions frightening, exhausting and very confusing. Sometimes symptoms can appear suddenly, last a long time, and often they are hard to talk about or explain. It can also seem like no-one understands, or that you’re the only one feeling this way. Creating a character, like our very own Glitch, can be a powerful and helpful way to express and understand your big feelings.
How do I create a character?
Our friends Catherine and Pete, from Taming Olivia, believe that creating a character is a really helpful way to represent your big feelings, worries or experiences with poor mental health. They helped our Youth Board to create Glitch for this very reason! Now, Taming Olivia has launched an amazing character creation pack to show you how you could create your own character. You don’t have to be good at drawing, some people prefer to write about their character instead and Taming Oliva have a guide for that too, as well as a pack all about creating your own comic.
Who is Glitch?
Created by our Youth Board, Glitch is a panda who has PANS. You can read about his story in our brand new comic, which is also a great way to talk about the conditions with your friends and family – and we’ve made some stickers to help you raise awareness!
