PANS PANDAS UK joins School Health Hub
We are delighted to announce that PANS PANDAS UK has joined School Health Hub as a Knowledge Partner!
School Health Hub is a new initiative bringing together education and healthcare professionals in one place, with a shared focus on supporting pupils with medical conditions. By combining trusted resources, self-assessment tools, professional discussion and specialist expertise, the Hub aims to strengthen collaboration between health and education and help ensure that children and young people feel safe, understood, included and supported in school.
For many families affected by PANS and PANDAS, better connection between health and education has long been a priority. Parents and carers often tell us that they find themselves bridging the gap between different services, helping professionals understand how a child’s health needs can affect their education and participation in school.
Through its role as a Knowledge Partner, PANS PANDAS UK will provide information and resources to help education professionals better understand and support children and young people affected by PANS and PANDAS.
“The support schools need is out there. Charities such as PANS PANDAS UK offer fantastic advice and resources, but schools don’t always know what’s available. In the busy day-to-day of school life, finding time to look beyond the school gates and discover that support can be a real challenge. Partnerships like this one with PANS PANDAS UK help break down that barrier, connecting schools with trusted knowledge and resources so they can better support their pupils.
We’re excited about what we might be able to achieve together! ”

School Health Hub.
The launch of School Health Hub comes at an important time. The draft revised Department for Education guidance on supporting pupils with medical conditions includes PANS and PANDAS among the examples of conditions schools may need to support. (p.64) While we still await the final guidance, this reflects growing recognition of the importance of ensuring that children and young people with medical conditions receive coordinated support across both health and education.
